Hootie & The Blowfish survive the hype

By Scott McLennan

...And given its broad base of appeal, Hootie & The Blowfish seemed a natural choice to christen the Worcester Tornadoes "Catch a Concert" series being staged at the baseball team's home at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field in Worcester...

The show at Fitton Field isn't Hootie's first connection to Worcester. No, that came a few years back when the band covered "Can't Find the Time (to Tell You)" by Orpheus for the soundtrack to "Me, Myself & Irene." Orpheus was the late-60s counter culture group that did for Worcester's Congress Alley what Jefferson Airplane did for San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood (sort of), and cracked the pop charts with its charming Summer of Love pop hit "Can't Find the Time."

"I can't remember the last time we did that song," (Dean) Felber said. "But I'll definitely mention it to the guys."
